Jobseekers turned out in force to one of the busiest Jobs Fairs on record in Horsham.
Over 450 local jobseekers came along to a packed Drill Hall for Horsham District Council’s 2026 District Jobs and Skills Fair on Wednesday 30 September 2026.
Following feedback last year, this popular annual event was moved to a weekday afternoon and evening, which proved very popular for recruiters and jobseekers alike, providing more opportunities for local job hunters to meet employers and training providers, whilst also accessing the free employability support workshops available throughout the event.
The event brought together over 30 local employers seeking to expand their workforces as well as training providers, colleges and voluntary organisations, all eager to connect with potential new recruits, students and apprentices.
This year’s line up included: Benchmark Capital, the Royal Air Force, Grant Thornton, London Gatwick, Mountjoy, Fowler Swimming Pools, Ascot Care and Tesla Engineering.
Jobseekers networked with a broad range of employers and organisations from a variety of different industries showcasing what they have on offer including paid work, voluntary work, apprenticeships and training opportunities.
Additionally, the event provided access to free employability workshop sessions with local specialists where attendees could learn how to develop stronger CVs and job applications, create positive impressions at both face-to-face and online interviews and receive financial advice.
Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property Cllr Jonathan Taylor commented:
“It was fantastic to see hundreds of local jobseekers attend this year’s Jobs and Skills Fair and connect directly with such a diverse range of employers, training providers and support organisations.
“The strength of turnout demonstrates the demand for local employment and skills opportunities, while also highlighting the confidence that employers have in recruiting from within our own community.
“We are proud to continue organising this well-established event, which seems to grow year on year, helping both our residents and local businesses to thrive, grow and succeed.”
Recruiters commented:
“This event was really useful for us – we developed lots of new contacts and got to showcase our services to lots of people.”
“Best jobs fair we have been to, will definitely come again.”
