Horsham District Council has secured funding from the Sussex and Brighton Strategic Authority to extend two successful employment support programmes which are available for Horsham District residents to access.
The Horsham Employment Hub, delivered by Adam Knight & Associates in partnership with the Council, will return for a third year, continuing its commitment to helping residents move towards employment, training, self-employment and greater career confidence.
Tailored support includes CV and application advice, interview preparation, job searching, transferable skills identification and training guidance.
During its first two years, the Employment Hub received more than 500 enquiries, registered 179 participants and supported 114 people to complete the programme. It also achieved 31 evidenced employment outcomes and made 82 specialist referrals, connecting residents with further help where needed.
Funding has also been secured to continue Think Futures, a partnership between West Sussex County Council and Horsham District Council supporting young people aged 16 to 25 who are not in education, employment or training. Over the past two years, the programme has helped more than 150 young people in Horsham, with over half moving into sustained employment, training or education.
Think Futures offers careers advice, CV and interview support, apprenticeship and job search assistance, confidence building and help identifying skills and ambitions.
Commenting on the extended employment support, Cllr Jonathan Taylor, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Enterprise & Property, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to secure additional funding to enable us to extend our employment support for Horsham residents and young people.
"Both programmes have a great track record of helping residents move towards employment and training.
If you’re looking for tailored support to help you gain the skills and confidence needed to enter the workplace, please do get in touch.”
Sha Rahman, Director of Adam Knight & Associates, said: “We are delighted to continue delivering the Horsham Employment Hub for a third year. The Hub has become more than a place where residents receive help with CVs and applications.
"It provides a trusted local service where people can be listened to, rebuild their confidence, understand their strengths and receive practical support towards their next step.”
Residents can find out more about both programmes and access support via the Council website.
