Call for Sites 2026

To inform the preparation of the Horsham District 2045 local plan, the Council is running a Call for Sites to identify land that has the potential to accommodate development in Horsham District, excluding the area covered by South Downs National Park.

We are interested in sites which you consider to be suitable for the following uses:

• Residential (e.g. market, affordable, older people, gypsy and traveller and travelling showpeople, custom and self-build)
• Employment (e.g. office, light industrial, storage and distribution)
• Mixed Use
• Retail, Leisure and Community Facilities
• Renewable Energy or Green Infrastructure
• Biodiversity Net Gain Offsetting and Agriculture.

The Call for Sites is open for submission for an 8-week period, from 30 June 2026 to 25 August 2026.

Please note, this call for sites will inform a new site assessment.  Therefore, any sites previously submitted to the Council will need to be re-submitted.

In addition to this Call for Sites, the Council are currently inviting comments on the Horsham District 2045 Scoping Consultation, the consultation is open for a period of 4-weeks, from 9am 30 June 2026 to 5pm 28 July 2026.
