Community recycling schemes

There are a number of local recycling schemes available to help you recycle the items we are unable to accept.

Local supermarket soft plastics recycling

Many supermarkets have now started collecting soft plastics such as plastic bags, bread bin bags and other wrapping. Recycle Now have a Recycling Locator tool on their website to help you find your nearest participating stores.

Soft plastics

Local community group Sussex Green Living does great work across the District to you to recycle, repair, reuse items including single-use plastics. They have partnered with Terracycle to recycle many single use plastics including crisp packets.

Repair cafes

Rather than recycling or discarding your old item  you might like to consider having the item repaired at your nearest Repair CafeWithin the Horsham district there are repair cafes in Horsham, Storrington, Steyning, and Henfield.  New repair cafes have also  opened up in Partridge Green, Shipley,  Amberley, Ashington.  Bring along the item to the café and skilled volunteers will do their best to mend it. Billingshurst Re-Use Shop

West Sussex County Council have now opened a small Re-Use shop at the Billingshurst Recycling Centre to save bric a brac, homeware, bikes (sold as seen) and furniture, including garden furniture, from going to waste. Items can be donated at this site as well as there being a shop outlet for patrons to purchase items which have been donated (card only payment).
