Report litter

Littering is the careless or malicious discard of rubbish on the highways and public land. It is illegal to litter on public land.

We are responsible for removing litter from the highways, footpaths and open public spaces. We regularly litter pick problem areas such as main roads using expensive and time consuming traffic management in order to litter pick safely. In all, litter picking our streets costs us nearly £400,000 each year.

The fine for littering is £150. If paid within 15 days they will be reduced to £110. Unpaid fines can incur a further £2,500 charge.
