There are a number of organisations providing support for food, fuel and energy needs as well as housing advice.

    Information on cost of living support and what payments older people are eligible for.

  • Apetito

    A meal delivery service operating across West Sussex to deliver hot nutritious meals direct to the door.

  • Chanctonbury Storehouse

    Food scheme run by Chanctonbury Churches from Ashington.

  • Citizens Advice - Horsham

    Advice on debt, benefits, employment, housing and other legal issues.

  • Citizens Advice: Cost of living

    A dedicated webpage with links to cost of living support, including help with food, family, travel and health. Citizens Advice offers free independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities.

  • Fare Divide: Community fridge

    Fare Divide’s vision is to save perishable foodstuffs from landfill, and to inspire healthier communities by forging give-and-take partnerships making available surplus food to all without judgement and stigma.

  • Five Loaves Cafe

    Free session provided by Storrington Chapel. Drop in but also free coffee and cake and snack to take away.

  • Horsham Matters

    This charity provides practical help and support to the community by providing essential food, fuel and shelter and working with partners to create sustainable solutions to wellbeing. Self referral or referral by partner agency.

  • Horsham Matters: Crisis support

    Horsham Matters can provide emergency food parcels, help with fuel meters or with essential household items for families in crisis.

  • Impact Initiatives

    Impact Initiatives'' mission is to bring people living in Sussex the support they need to live healthy and fulfilling lives through providing the right people at the right time, and through leading collaborative working to create and deliver services

  • Military Covenant

    A service committed to supporting the armed forces community in West Sussex, including serving and former members, reservists and their families.

  • Potters Pantry Southwater

    The Potter's Pantry offers Southwater residents a chance to meet, have a chat over a cuppa and collect a parcel of essential food and toiletries.

  • Salvation Army: Foodbank

    The Salvation Army runs a foodbank and supports the homeless with rough sleeper packs.

  • Salvation Army: Hope In

    Hope In community programme and drop-in is for individuals or families who need practical help and support and a listening ear, especially in the area of food poverty. A hot meal is available.

  • Southwater Pet Food Bank

    Help for families struggling to feed their pets. They collect unwanted and unused pet food to distribute (no live or raw food). Currently the pet food bank is not means tested, this is a service offered on trust.

  • Sussex Green Living

    Sussex Green Living develops and facilitates community action: educating, engaging and empowering kids, families, communities, local government and businesses. We help people of all ages and abilities to work together so as to ensure resources are used sustainably and economically.

  • The Wholesome Warehouse

    Helps vulnerable families and those in need by delivering food boxes,  hosting events, meals and workshops and collecting and delivery furniture donations.

  • West Sussex County Council Community Hub emergencies only

    Contact the West Sussex County Council Community Hub if you are in urgent need of food, medicine and essential supplies.

  • West Sussex County Council Holiday Activities and Food

    Free places are available for school children aged 4 to 16 who receive benefits-related free school meals. The programme for the main school holidays is fully funded by the Department for Education and children and young people can enjoy activities and a meal.
