About the role:
Horsham District Council is looking for a Civil Engineering Technician to join the Property and Facilities team supporting the Projects Engineer to carry out Corporate Projects.
The projects involve development or improvement of Council owned assets but extend to working with other organisations on the Public Realm. Although this is a technical based role, there will be an opportunity to discuss and meet with stakeholders supporting the projects.
As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will support the Corporate Project Engineer. On a daily basis, this could include carrying out inspections, assessments, analysis and giving professional advice and opinion to others. Being familiar and able to work with Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) plans would be an asset to this role.
About you:
To succeed as a Civil Engineering Technician, you will be detail orientated, thorough in your work and have the ability to use your initiative and be flexible as changes arise. You will be able to work well with a range of people and within a team. Knowledge of building and construction is essential, some experience in civil engineering and Microsoft Office suite would be preferable. CAD experience would also be an advantage.
As this position is an essential car user role, you will be required to travel around the District and therefore a full and current UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
For an informal discussion about this role please email Nigel Weston, Projects Engineer at nigel.weston@horsham.gov.uk or call on 07734231087.
