Roffey Recreation Ground
Construction is now well underway on our project to improve the youth activity area at Roffey Recreation Ground.
Although work started in February 2024, the recent wet weather has hampered our progress and despite our best efforts it is now likely that the area will open after the Easter holidays.
The images below show the first stage of the installation with the Numuga walls, hoops and return pass arc as well as the callisthenics section of the outdoor gym in place. Still to come is the cardio equipment (exercise bikes, cross-trainer and shoulder press ) as well as the large hammocks that make up the chill out zone.
When the full installation is complete, the area will be landscaped and a selection of new trees planted.
Once all the equipment is in-situ we will be able to open the area for use, although residents should be aware that we need to wait for warmer weather before the block colour can be added to the tarmac. The colour will help to zone the playing areas and make everything look brighter and more appealing.
We are currently organising an opening event for Friday 31st May, 12pm - 3pm (more details coming soon) . We hope everyone will be able to join us on the day.
