Public consultation for the creation of the Park Terrace Gardens Conservation Area and Draft Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan

The Council are considering the designation of a new Conservation Area which would include properties within Norfolk Road, Norfolk Terrace, Wellington Road, Chichester Terrace, Barttelot Road, Park Terrace, Park Street and East Street in Horsham Town, to be called Park Terrace Gardens Conservation Area.  The Council have also produced a Draft Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan for the proposed Conservation Area.

Conservation Areas exist to manage and protect the special architectural and historic interest of an area and contribute to forming a unique sense of place.  The designation of an area as a Conservation Area means that the Local Planning Authority can control more closely any changes that might affect the environmental quality of the area and seek to protect and enhance the "special character" of the area for the benefit of all its residents and businesses.

The proposed designation and appraisal document are published for public consultation between 1 September 2022 and 6 October 2022, a copy of which is available to view below.  All comments on the draft document or the designation of the new conservation area should be sent by 17:00 on Thursday 6 October 2022 to landscape.heritage@horsham.gov.uk or please write to:
