Congratulations to Lower Barn Allotments on their recent successful Community Climate Fund bid.
Volunteers will use the funds to complete three rainwater harvesting stations. This will allow about 100 people to access water all year round and lengthen the growing season. Plus, it should reduce the site's mains water usage by about 20% or 25,000 litres, the equivalent to  417 5-minute showers!

A new round of the Community Climate Fund is now open. If you have a climate-friendly idea for your community group, apply now!
Horsham District Council’s Community Climate Fund enables voluntary and community groups, as well as Parish and Neighbourhood Councils to develop projects which will deliver long-term, tangible climate benefits for Horsham District.
Applications must be for new initiatives which will help reduce carbon emissions in the priority areas of:
  • Reducing energy, water or waste consumption
  • Increasing biodiversity
  • Encouraging use of public transport, cycling or walking.

We provide full support and advice throughout the application process which is completely free of charge. This free advice package helps in areas such as setting up an appropriate organisation, completing your grant funding application form and supporting documents which are very straight forward, and promoting your achievements so that other groups can learn and benefit from your experience.

The new tranche of funding is available until Sunday 13 August.
